Ralf has degrees in Mathematics and Natural Science from Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium in Nordheide, Germany. He also received a broad classical piano instruction from 1965 to 1981.
While residing in Germany Ralf Stemmann worked as an arranger, studio and live-keyboard player and teacher. Here he developed concept bands like "The Beatles Orchestra". He gained experience in arranging and synthesizer programming through hundreds of live appearances and by writing vocal and instrumental parts for Top-40 bands. He also instructed adults and children in piano, organ and harmony theory at the private music school.
The first success came with signing to Night’n’Day Records where he collaborated with Mike Mareen on the project PHANTOM IN ROM / SCHAMPUS. Ralf learned comprehensive studio techniques in engineering and sound design at Studio 33 (formerly Star Studio) with producer/engineer Luis Rodriguez.
While residing in Germany, he worked for European recording artists including: "Modern Talking", Chris Norman, C.C. Catch, Blue System, Engelbert Humperdinck , London Boys, Nino de Angelo, London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Baccara, Marianne Rosenberg, Roberto Blanco, Howard Carpendale, Mary Roos, Bonnie Bianco, Ricky Shayne and others. Ralf also composed, produced and arranged music for films, TV and videos including: "ARD- Sportschau", scoring for several episodes of the TV crime-shows "Der Alte" and "Tatort", and scoring for TV series "Rivalen der Rennbahn", "Kuss die Hand" and "Rendezvous", "ZDF-Fahrstunde" and "ZDF-Hitparade".
After moving to US, Ralf Stemmann works as a composer, producer and arranger in the Latin American recording market for names of such calibre as Ricky Martin, Thalia, Paulina Rubio, Mijares, Carlos Ponce, Kabah, Marta Sanchez and many others.
In the U.S. and European recording market he has composed, produced and arranged works for I-5, Audrey Landers, Jason Everly, Paul Bennett, The Three Degrees, Thomas Anders, Michael Holm and many others.
He has also worked composing, producing and arranging music for films, TV and videos. These include the soundtrack "Der Ring der Musketiere" (RTL), all themes for the PBS show "The Huggabug Club", all the themes for the "Buscando Estrellas" shows from 1992-1993 as well as "Supermodels of the World", International Auto-Show Detroit, etc. He worked on the History of Mexico Animation series, a new animated TV series for the U.S. market, and the score for the movie "The Pearl".
